about

Under-thought is now thunk. A year on from You Heard the Growls, Boogles are back with Mushroom Livers, a mix of energetic, sad, and political songs. Splashes of post-punk sit side by side with lo-fi folk, psych, and improvised hip-hop. Ever-present band tensions produce flashes of passion and the kids are taking up the instruments. A result is both more aggression and more sensitivity than on Growls. Lex wails and brags about his smarts, imagined brattish behavior, real personal disputes, and climate change. Arte says hello to mermaids and implores you to “move it now!”. Both want you off your screens and paying attention. Mushroom Livers is a blast of kindie post-punk energy and Boogles thank you for your interest in their going concern.

about

Boogles Copenhagen, Denmark

Under-thought is underrated. Boogles’ music comes from a mix of immediacy, intimacy, and conflict. The mix of two young siblings + father permits a lot of unarticulated post-punk communication. Boogles have glassy, sinewy strings, fat bass, and frantic drums. Lex on vox, electric ukulele, synth, bass and theremin. Arte on vox, electric ukuele, drums and stylophone, Len on drums, bass, and bouzouki ... more
